Captain Andy Thornton has over eighteen years experience working in commercial aviation in Europe and Asia. Andy has held senior flight management posts including Deputy Chief Pilot for Tiger Airways, Director of Flight Operations for Loganair and, most recently, he was Training Manager for Wow Air.

Currently type rated on the A320 family, Andy is both a Type Rating Instructor (TRI) and Type Rating Examiner (TRE) for this type. Furthermore, he is keenly focussed on fuel conservation and has led initiatives that have delivered substantial cost savings and efficiency benefits.

His operational experience covers a wide range such as fleet/type expansions, aircraft entry into service, AOC mergers and start-ups. Furthermore, he has in-depth understanding of flight operations, rostering and crewing, safety management, regulatory requirements and public relations.
